Hello,
My
name is Larry Strueby. I live in Powell River British Columbia,
Canada. Six years ago Georgiana Strueby gave me almost all of the
information contained in this site. She spent many years writing
letters and making phone calls. All this before e-mail was invented. What
Georgiana managed to do was make contact with the Struby’s, Strube’s
and Strueby’s that were living in the United States. After (
Franz Xaver Strueby, b. Mar 8 1855 in Morschach Switz, d. Jul 16
1927 in Maryburg SK. He married Mary Endres, married Oct 1, 1886 in
Springfield Comers WI. ) moved to Saskatchewan Canada all
contact with our relatives in the United States was lost. Now that
contact had been made 46 people from Canada went to Kansas City to
meet our southern relatives. The next year a number of relatives
from the United States made a trip to Saskatchewan, all went very
well.
I have
received e-mails from two people living in England and I have
talked to a number of people living in the United States, they spell
their last name Struby, they are not to be found on our site. Below
is a list of names that we have no records for. What we know is that
many of the records at that time were kept in churches. We have been
told that snow slides and fires destroyed a number of churches and
that many records were lost.
